That is what I thought, too. The only difference between globalist's gift vs others' is Guest of Honor privilege, which understandingly is valuable.

I have done this before and others (non-Globalists) here have gifted awards to me by calling customer service.

By awards you do mean a freebie credit card Anniversary cert right? That’s quite interesting and a huge datapoint - you should add it to the Wiki. This wasn’t the case forever but good to know it is possible now.

Yes, my wife has gifted me an anniversary Category 4 free night award earned through the Chase Hyatt by calling customer service and making the reservation under my name. I have purchased Category 4 free night awards from others here who have done the same although I do not know the exact type of Category 4 free night award it was (credit card anniversary, five brand free night, staying 30 nights/year, etc.).
