Hyatt is telling me night is available on points but not for an award cert. Is that right?
Are you searching a block of nights in a row, and the hotel shows points availability for all nights? If this is true, but when you look night by night, one or more nights don’t show availability, then the property is playing with availability by marrying nights together under stay minimums. This has happened to me many times. The easiest way around this is to search one night at a time and isolate which nights are under the stay minimum for availability, then book those nights together under points, and finally call Hyatt to have them reduce the reservation to the single night you actually want. This unfortunately won’t help with cert only bookings, as single night availability is required, and even when calling in Hyatt often can’t convert the points booking to a cert if the reservation system is still using minimum stay requirements, etc. This happened to me this month for a Hyatt Regency Austin stay.
