HELP! CSR statement closed with out travel credit

I thought that my closing date for the Chase Sapphire Reserve is Dec. 17 (my wife's closing is then), so I thought I have till then to make a purchase eligible for travel credit, I just mad the purchase, & now I see that the December statement closed already Dec. 10, tried changing the closing date, but the rep assured me that the next closing will be in January.

Anything I can do, to make the statement close in December?

tell them to change the payment due date and then that will change your closing date. It’s 3 days apart...

Done that, but the rep claims that since my Dec statement closed already, the change will take effect only with the January statement.

Even if the statement closes in December, I'm skeptical that your $300 window will reopen.

I recall the terms saying first statement close in December. CMIIW.

"For applications submitted before May 21, 2017, annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and the 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date each year"
