How was it 12.5 if it involved backtracking. You left PEK and returned there. Or am I missing s/t?

Very nice TR! I just love how you covered so many cities with such a small amount of miles... Can we get more details, like how many hours/days did u stay in each stopover on average? Does the airline usually limit you on the length of stay in each stopover whenever u start having too many legs in one single ticket? Do you think u were successful in booking that many legs just because the agent was clueless or u could have done that even with stopover in even more continents with any agent?

I stayed close to 24h in each place.

a couple of things are needed.

have an available itinerary to "help out" the agent

have an agent that has zero knowledge in geography, yet know how to price and ticket

know how to talk

Time to wake up from your laziness. I dunno about all the old-timers but for me, seeing close to 16 leg itinerary and a few posted pictures does not equal the true SF experience. I want some adventurous stories that I am certain you came across :)
