Sheraton Plaza J-M Shabbos food?
« on: March 16, 2009, 01:44:40 PM »
Has anyone stayed at the Sheraton Plaza in Jerusalem recently and ate the Shabbos meals there? If yes please post your experience. (We are trying to decide if it is worth just eating there or to look for an invite at relatives but with a big walk involved  ???.)

as opposed to "Israeli style" food (like  steak or whatever else they don't know how to make besides shwarma and fallafel, isn't that good usually), they had pretty good food. That's all i meant!

I've stayed at the Sheraton twice on shabbos and still have yet to eat a meal there. It's hard to justify spending that kind of money on a shabbos meal...

For lack of anywhere else to eat we decided to eat at the Sheraton Friday Night (Shabos Morning we trekked 45 minutes to family) Price is now 300 Shekel!! ($75) per person!! Food was decent but definitley not worth that kind of money.

if its important to you, you shouldnt eat rabbanut mehadrin at all, in the state it is today.however the plaza makes sure that most of their products are very good hashgachos. (for example the meat is only badatz , rubin or landau - three of the best hashgachos available today)

by Israeli law, any rabanut MUST accept any product from any other rabanut. This would mean that plain rabanut is only as good as the least reliable one in the country.
