Topic Wiki

I am trying to put a list together of the pro's and cons of the main bassinet strollers:

UppaBaby (UB)
PRO:
so easy to push
great basket (HUGE)
the bassinet is easy to take on and off
the wheels are easy to remove if need be
folds in a sinch
handle bar is great for tall and short people
the rumble seat lets the kid sit like a human being (not slide down)
the break is easy to push and doesnt break easily
the lay back position is great for kids who need to sleep on the go
the sun visor is a life savor
option to use with car seat (need to purchase the adapter)
fantastic customer service

con:
its wide but still easy to push
it can be heavy for some
the lock to close the stroller (it broke on mine)

Can someone help me with a convincing argument why to get the UBV and not BUG?
Simple, do you care about functionality or looks?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Well the problem is I need to convince my wife that funcionality is more important than looks or status  ::)

If you read this thread and other places on DDF, I don't think you will find anyone who recommends the Bugaboo over UppaBaby.
Do you have an opinion on the matter?

Yes I know, I went through the whole ordeal with my wife too...
We ended up going with a buggabo buffalo- it's a little bigger then the camillian (about same as vista) and are very happy with our decision.
You def cannot say the bug is junk (as someone said above), he might know a few plm complaining about bugs, I know some complaining about vista too...

Vista may be a little more practical and meter priced, but looks is a big factor too- and I couldn't convince my wife it didnt look like a tent on wheels!

This is probably an unpopular opinion here but I strongly dislike the UBV.
It's the only stroller I have had (besides the graci snap an go) so I don't have anything to compare it to. That being said, I found the UBV to be very bulky.
Also it is very difficult to fold, so much so that my wife won't use it without me there to fold it.
And on top of all that their customer service is pretty bad. On the positive side it is pretty functional when you don't need to fold it. There is lots of space for storage underneath, and it moves very smoothly.
All in all I'm not a fan and Now that I need a double I'm going for the citi select.

This is extremely surprising to hear. We have gotten incredibly good service from them - sending replacement parts out quickly, for free, no questions asked. Always a pleasure to deal with. I've heard the same from friends, too.

That being said, I found the UBV to be very bulky.

Now that I need a double I'm going for the citi select.

If you have a problem with the UBV being bulky, you should probably stay far away from the Select. It might be the bulkiest, heaviest stroller around. I loved the idea of the different configurations and Citi's incredibly easy folds. But speaking to anyone with real world use, they hate it. Never met anyone happy with their purchase. When we were looking at it in the store, the saleslady warned us strongly against getting it. She said she gets a ton of complaints from those that bought it.

Just my 2 cents.

Very odd since Uppababy is known for their excellent customer service. I personally called about a few issues and without any questions they sent me replacement pieces.
