Topic Wiki

I am trying to put a list together of the pro's and cons of the main bassinet strollers:

UppaBaby (UB)
PRO:
so easy to push
great basket (HUGE)
the bassinet is easy to take on and off
the wheels are easy to remove if need be
folds in a sinch
handle bar is great for tall and short people
the rumble seat lets the kid sit like a human being (not slide down)
the break is easy to push and doesnt break easily
the lay back position is great for kids who need to sleep on the go
the sun visor is a life savor
option to use with car seat (need to purchase the adapter)
fantastic customer service

con:
its wide but still easy to push
it can be heavy for some
the lock to close the stroller (it broke on mine)

Or the non-GT version, which is cheaper.

GT wheels are almost a necessity in Israel for his criteria.

I have the non GT and don't have any issues at all. But if you really want you can replace the wheels to the GT wheels.

To me the basket is a bigger deal. One thing you can do to help mitigate that issue is to get hooks for the handlebar:

Weight distribution isn't right for that on food stroller. If the bags are heavy and kid is light you will flip it.

That's the price difference between them.

So if I get hooks for my packages and have a lot hanging on the handle bar the stroller can tip? Is it because there is  only on wheel in the front?

The two wheels ones are the same basically. It's the stroller design. I hang bags on it all the time just not as much as other strollers. It's mainly an issue when there is no child inside.

Thank You for all the information!
I am assuming that if i would want to attach a bassinet or car seat i will have to order a separate piece. Is that correct?

It doesn't come with it if that's the question.

Yes.
I'm assuming that the stroller comes with a specific bassinet that I would have to get.
Also is there a specific car seat that connects or I can get any and they will all fit as long as i get the adapter?

Don't know what food stroller is, but if you think that, you're not doing it right. You simply stuff the basket with the heaviest things you can find, then load the hooks till you can feel the difference (ie press down to tip up the stroller and stop when you feel a significant change in resistance). I've never had a problem with this and put quite a lot of weight on the hooks.

Also, please stop worrying about the three wheels. Most people I see in the U.S. have been getting three-wheel strollers ("jogger" style) for like 5-10 years, and they are much easier to push and control with one hand, and perfectly stable.

What makes a stroller tip is the weight distribution, and one wheel doesn't weigh much.

Food=This.
I didnt say there arent methods to stabilize it, I actually said that it's mainly an issue when there is no child in there since even that will stabilize it.
Merely pointing out an issue that many have with it.

http://www.babyjogger.com/product/city-mini-gt/

Scroll down to the accessorize section. It's all sold separately (though even with the accessories it should still be cheaper than the Vista). There are 2 options for the bassinet. There are also 4 different car seat adapters, compatible with a pretty big variety of car seats. Here's the list (with the appropriate adapter listed next to each):

http://s7d2.scene7.com/is/content/GracoBaby/Baby%20Jogger/Baby%20Jogger%20CSA%20Compatabiliy%20Chart%20%282016%29%20copy.pdf

I personally don't like the setup of 1967207 (where it for a rectangle for the car seat to fit in) - more intrusive, doesn't fold nicely, more expensive, etc. The downside of that is that the Chicco, which is a favorite around here (for good reason), would be out. Other than that though, there are plenty of options, including the newer Graco car seats, Britax car seats, and Baby Jogger's own (relatively new) car seat.

Does anyone find that the bassinet on the UB is to small?
Is the bugaboo really bigger?

Is there a difference between the city mini gt and city mini 4, besides for the amount of wheels? I hear they are both easy to fold and very lightweight. I'm not so crazy about the three wheel thing.
