Topic Wiki

I am trying to put a list together of the pro's and cons of the main bassinet strollers:

UppaBaby (UB)
PRO:
so easy to push
great basket (HUGE)
the bassinet is easy to take on and off
the wheels are easy to remove if need be
folds in a sinch
handle bar is great for tall and short people
the rumble seat lets the kid sit like a human being (not slide down)
the break is easy to push and doesnt break easily
the lay back position is great for kids who need to sleep on the go
the sun visor is a life savor
option to use with car seat (need to purchase the adapter)
fantastic customer service

con:
its wide but still easy to push
it can be heavy for some
the lock to close the stroller (it broke on mine)

Is there a difference between the city mini gt and city mini 4, besides for the amount of wheels? I hear they are both easy to fold and very lightweight. I'm not so crazy about the three wheel thing.
If you're referring to this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GNIWSGM/
It's a 4 wheel version of the regular city mini. The biggest difference is the type of wheel. The GT has foam-filled rubber tires (as do the Select and the newer Premier) . That's what the Vista has, and it's part of what makes them all so popular. At some point they sold an upgrade kit for the 3 wheel, but it's no longer available and I don't think they ever made it for the 4 wheel.

What about the 3 wheels is so disconcerting to you?

People are saying that it tips more easily when there are only three wheels.
Also do you know anything about the city versa GT? Are the wheels on that better?

Yes. They are significantly better and smoother. Doesn't come close when bumping down steps.
Edit: nevermind, I was confused about what you were asking.

it seems that it is the happy medium between the select and mini gt.
does anyone have experience with it? This seems like something I am interested in.

Interesting. It only comes up on Baby Jogger's non-USA sites. And I only see it available online from Canadian sites.

Either way, it does seem interesting - checking off a fair number of boxes (4 foam filled wheels, faces either way, available bassinet and car seat attachments, one-hand fold). But it weighs more than the Vista (28.6 vs 27.5), and won't come out that much cheaper if you're buying the bassinet and bug/rain cover anyway. That kills it IMO - I'd just get a Vista instead (well, I'd get the Mini GT, but if you made me choose between the Versa GT and the Vista...).

Why would you get the mini GT over the others?

What's the reason why the chicco is the preferred infant seat on the forums? How does it compare to the graco and maxi cosi besides for that it's heavier?

ETA: I see that no stores in Lakewood even carry the chicco.

Biggest reason is probably that it's Consumer Reports top pick. The Maxi Cosi is not even in their top 5 - though the newer Graco is their 'budget' pick.

Add item to bed bath registry.
Walk into store.
Have them print registry.
Point to item you want and have over coupon.
Pay for item and be sure to get free shipping as it's on a registry.

Just did it yesterday.
Sorry for digging up an old post:

Is this method still current?
can you still get %20
Still get the same generous return policy?
does registry change anything? just the ability to use coupon?

Return policy on baby items including strollers is not the same as on other items.

**All baby merchandise must be in the same condition/packaging in which you received it and cannot be used.
so registry doesn't solve this, and strollers remain essentially unreturnable?

Is the new policy even on items you bought before policy change?
And is there a warranty on the strollers (mountain buggy duet) ?
I have mine for exactly a year and I am shocked what bad condition it's in!
I do live In Israel- so use a lot- but I still think I don't abuse it...
Had flat tires left and right, and now the folding mechanism broke...
Anything bbb will do (exchange) ?
Or mountain buggy ?

No idea. I never bought baby items from BB&B.
