Topic Wiki

I am trying to put a list together of the pro's and cons of the main bassinet strollers:

UppaBaby (UB)
PRO:
so easy to push
great basket (HUGE)
the bassinet is easy to take on and off
the wheels are easy to remove if need be
folds in a sinch
handle bar is great for tall and short people
the rumble seat lets the kid sit like a human being (not slide down)
the break is easy to push and doesnt break easily
the lay back position is great for kids who need to sleep on the go
the sun visor is a life savor
option to use with car seat (need to purchase the adapter)
fantastic customer service

con:
its wide but still easy to push
it can be heavy for some
the lock to close the stroller (it broke on mine)

The frum side by side is the city mini. Aere you frum?
If you live in narrow urban apartments with narrow doors and narrow store aisles, the choice is mountain buggy duet (about 4-5 inches narrower than any of the others)

I bought a mountain buggy urban double, about 10 years old, for 60 buck on craigslist.   Its built to last. Downsides are: doesn't fold much, and is very "basic" (ie, no fancy parts)

lol im frum but for stroller purposes i'm very off the derech.  ;D ;D
someone gave us a MB Urban but it has too many cons and its super heavy and doesn't fold very well. also the basket underneath is basically pointless. the visors are dumb cuz they're attached and theres no adapter for a car seat

Depends what your priorities are in a stroller. I can tell you that there is no side-by-side that is all good, they all have something that isn't that great.

Is the new policy even on items you bought before policy change?
And is there a warranty on the strollers (mountain buggy duet) ?
I have mine for exactly a year and I am shocked what bad condition it's in!
I do live In Israel- so use a lot- but I still think I don't abuse it...
Had flat tires left and right, and now the folding mechanism broke...
Anything bbb will do (exchange) ?
Or mountain buggy ?
I returned a used baby item that was bought before the policy was changed with no problem.

Bugaboo must be coming out with a new model/design because the cameleon is on sale on almost every website. Almost as low as the price on Gilt.

My wife went back and forth between the Mountain buggy duet, valco , and Citi mini gt. Eventually settled with the city mini gt. Pros and cons:
Valco
Pros: separate "belly" bar,  light weight
Cons: no track record , feels " cheap"
Mountain Buggy
Pros: Narrow, strong, big wheels
Cons: heavy , air filled wheels (air loss, flats) , doesn't fold easily or flat.
City mini gt
Pros: easiest to fold , large foam filled wheels , folds flattest of all, easy to push
Cons: one "belly bar", very wide ,

Won't be an issue to bring it in, but they will charge you taxes if they realize it's new.

Take it out of the box, and remove all the tags etc.. And you should be fine.

I'm looking for spare back wheels for the 2015 UB Cruz. On their website they are selling for $35 each. Anyone know if they can be bought for cheaper anywhere else? TIA

Best stroller for traveling.

We have the Mountain Buggy Duet, Looking for some experiences with newborns

We've used it in the past as-is, just lay newborn on seat. not bad. we're now looking to invest in a bassinet/parent facing options for newborn. MB makes 2 options:
Carrycot(includes a rear-facing seat option) $200
Cocoon $70
(We actually caught the carrycot a few weeks ago at walmart when they had it going for $140.)

Seems from documentation like some of the Pros/Cons of each are:
-Price
-Carrycot lasts through longer time/larger child
-Cocoon sits on seat (seems more stable than) carrycot perched on a 'clip'.
-carrycot needs separate storm-cover, not compatible with the regular one

Our questions are as follows:
-Can the carrycot be used without removing the existing seat-cloth?
-does the cocoon fit inside the regular storm-cover?
-we sometimes use a generic buggy-board with the stroller. having a seat fully reclined (as cocoon requires) interferes with that.
Does the carrycot -in addition to sitting higher up- also sit further forward than a fully reclined seat?

-Any other things to be aware of?
-Is there likely a catch with the cheaper walmart price? or is it likely the  same item?

They also make the cosmopolitan. The last seasons one goes for around 300 and it's convertible from bassinet to rear/forward facing seat

is it compatible with the Duet double stroller (that was the criteria for the other 2 I mentioned)

Not the right thread for this, but I'm too freaked out (aka traumatized) to stop myself.

Was walking down Paran a couple of hours ago, saw a mother pushing a stroller out of yesh, bumped it from sidewalk to street, and a doll went flying in to the air and fell flat on to the ground.  Then I realized it wasn't a doll...  It was extremely painful to see that happen to a baby, and it was extremely painful to see the wife's emotional/nervous breakdown.  Yes, you can blame the mother for not buckling up the kid (id assume baby was around 1 yr old, and was sleeping i think); but the bump was very small.. and (which is the reason I'm posting this) the design of the stroller was terrible.  There was almost no sides to the thing.  I know of a similar story of a lady who's baby came flying out of her stroller when they were on a bus and it stopped short.  Obviously #1 - keep your baby strapped even if you think he/she doesn't need it.  BUT, #2 - your stroller should be one where the baby sits IN it not ON it.

Sorry for the rant.. i cant get over the images of tonight

(p.s., i went over to the hatzala guy afterwards, apologized for seeming to be a hocker and asking him how's the kid, but since i saw it i needed to know and he said bh the kid was good, they just had to go do some tests to make sure)
