Topic Wiki

I am trying to put a list together of the pro's and cons of the main bassinet strollers:

UppaBaby (UB)
PRO:
so easy to push
great basket (HUGE)
the bassinet is easy to take on and off
the wheels are easy to remove if need be
folds in a sinch
handle bar is great for tall and short people
the rumble seat lets the kid sit like a human being (not slide down)
the break is easy to push and doesnt break easily
the lay back position is great for kids who need to sleep on the go
the sun visor is a life savor
option to use with car seat (need to purchase the adapter)
fantastic customer service

con:
its wide but still easy to push
it can be heavy for some
the lock to close the stroller (it broke on mine)

So I'm with you on this....my wife just had our #2 last night and I need to start thinking about a double but she loves our UB so much, we got the rumble seat...anyone have suggestions for a good double?
Doubles are all bulky and heavy. I feel like there's no good option out there...

Mazel Tov!  :)

anyone have suggestions for a good double?

I personally think the citi mini GT is great.  I dont have the car seat adapter so I have no issues with that....
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

+1, if you prize being able to keep your infant in a carseat (so they're more portable and you don't need to wake them to go places) then there really isn't a good solution.  The donkey is probably as good as that gets but it's really overpriced.

We use the UB with rumble seat and have had good luck so far.  Truth is by the time Talia is out of her carseat we may not need a double (we rarely do now) but if we do it'll be the City Mini GT.

Need a replacement for my city mini double. Didn't hold up through the snow. Wheels got all rusty and squeaky. Can anyone recommend a double that will hold up in the arctic conditions to which I now call home? Both in terms of durability and ease to push through snow?

I've had the city mini for over two years, well before I knew Toronto existed

Only thing I regret is not making a claim on my city mini before my two years were up

We have the Bob Duallie.  Thing is monstrous.  But otherwise, awesome.

We are very happy with the new Phil and Ted Navigator. It's narrower than the old phil and teds, it's one seat above the other with reclinable bottom seat, bigger & better sunvisor, easily removable fabric for washing, much better braking system, plastic wheel rim so no rust issues

I'm deciding between the city elite double stroller and http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=21198316&cp=2255957.2273443.2256189.2256200&parentPage=family
Any thoughts?

Can't speak for the Baby Trend, but the City Elite is massive. Bigger than any other stroller I've experienced. It pushes really well though for such a huge stroller. You better have a big trunk (and strong arms) if you ever plan on transporting it, and a space the size of a garage to leave it in your house.

Hmmmm.... Does not sound enticing. Any other recommendations? GT wheels don't seem that much bigger than the mini.

It won't be quite the same as the Elite, but the step up to foam wheels from the Mini to the GT is a bigger deal IMO than the increase in size from the GT to the Elite.

I don't want to post in public, but you can pm me and if you have 50 posts I will respond.
I know of a coupon code to get 50% off of the new Duet (etc.) hard rubber (not inflated) wheels. Only works for that AFAIK. on phil & teds.

Totally worth it. I have replaced numerous air tires already and they aren't cheap.
