Topic Wiki

I am trying to put a list together of the pro's and cons of the main bassinet strollers:

UppaBaby (UB)
PRO:
so easy to push
great basket (HUGE)
the bassinet is easy to take on and off
the wheels are easy to remove if need be
folds in a sinch
handle bar is great for tall and short people
the rumble seat lets the kid sit like a human being (not slide down)
the break is easy to push and doesnt break easily
the lay back position is great for kids who need to sleep on the go
the sun visor is a life savor
option to use with car seat (need to purchase the adapter)
fantastic customer service

con:
its wide but still easy to push
it can be heavy for some
the lock to close the stroller (it broke on mine)

You must be very special. I never once heard one person complain about how hard it is to fold the UB. I have heard everyone complain though how annoying it is to fold the bug. "Its three pieces" "its hard to fold quickly" and so on...

And maybe the wife should put up or shut up. Esp if finances are an issue.

I was in a hotel over yt and someone needed my stroller for a couple hrs and she didn't stop saying how light and easy the stroll was compared to there bug.

Though I must admit when I'm in america I think I am.switching to an umbrella stroller. Much easier in and out of cars.
The new bug buffalo has same storage space (if not more) and folds in one peice, and stands folded!
Just saying...

Obviously there are degrees here, but if finances are really an issue, you should make do with something a lot cheaper than the UBV.

countours bliss (from BB&B %20 off 8) )
'knockoff' UBV for close to 1/2 price

Or many other even cheaper options that serve the purpose well, if not as comfortable or stylishly.

Does anyone have experience with the UBV vs the Citi Mini GT in Israel? From what everyone is saying it seems like the UBV is a very versatile stroller, but I've heard that the GT handles all the hills and uneven streets in Israel really well. It's for a first child iy"H.

I think you are asking this question is the wrong place. 99% of people on DDF are UBV fans, I am not sure you will get an honest review :)

I dont know mch about it but i can tell you from what i see. It seems amazing and quick to fold. VERY easy, a nd light. Much less bulky than the UB and def more practical than the bug. I see tons of them on the streets, beat up and looking like they went thru a war. seems like a solid option
If you have any questions please search and then ask. PM me for detailed help.

Would you say that there are drawbacks to the UBV specifically in Israel? We spoke to someone who had a City Select, which I could definitely be mistaken but it seems like a similar concept to the UBV. She told us that it was great for flat ground in Woodmere but it was a terror in Israel. The UBV seems awesome but if it's hard to push on hills and uneven ground then it's probably not shayich for us.

Not even a little. we have the UB and my wife loves it here. Never had an issue here in israel, and actually its  pretty light drive for such a bulky stroller. i cant say about theciti mini

Huh? That's where the UBV excels.

Yeah I wasn't saying that I heard it didn't, I just wanted to make sure that nobody had complaints about it like I've heard about other strollers.

It seems like the best option, so long as we can get someone to buy it for us haha.

We bring it with to places like Argentina with terrible sidewalks because its big wheels handle them easily.
An umbrella stroller there would be a nightmare.

Assuming the wife agrees, it seems like we are set.

What accessories do you guys recommend? I think we are getting the maxi cosi car seat, so we will have to get the adapter for that, but what else is helpful?

Thanks for all the information.

Why Maxi-cosi over Chicco?

My sister has one and loves it. It's light, looks very comfy for the baby, and I've never heard of any complaints about it.

Okay, thanks! Seems like the one thing all the strollers have in common is that they get you on all the little extras..

Dan, this is the Chicco model you are talking about?
