Many times when people want a cheap car rental they end up cluttering other threads, such as the "corporate code roundup" thread. Here's an idea: put it in this thread, so that if people want to help, they know where to look.

Its for a round trip.I noted that he's going to Toronto in case leaving the country would effect the rate.

Correct, rutherford is an hour away. I noted that he lives in lkwd -- so I thought it was obvious that he would like to rent from a local location.

Rutherford was supposed to have better rates, and it accepts coupons that Toms River won't, but never mind, pick up from Toms River and mention that you're going to Canada, ask if they can include that in the price for you. also, try the following, let me know if it works: tell the rep (make sure that the manager is not listening) that you'll sign up for all 3 insurances if he gives you a really good deal, and the next day cancel the insurances. See if you get anything out of that...

Reps get serious commission from insurances. That's why they always lie about CC coverage, and the minimum included by law. It is a great bargaining chip
