Paperless Vrs Paper statements

I get paper but save the digital ones to files on my computer.

Reason?

I usually read the paper one and Chuck it.

The paper is piling up by me...
I was told I gotta save them, no clue why...
So I’m wondering what everyone here does (and why) knowing that you keep on canceling and reapplying for cards it gets confusing...

Officially you need to keep records for 3 years..( what I was told...)

That's th reason I started saving the digital files.

I always get the paper, despite their pleas for the environment. I do everything else on the computer or phone, but still prefer all my statements as paper. I think if they were digital I would just never get around to doing them. It also makes it easier to hand it off to my wife to look over if there is a questionable charge. After that, I shred them all.

Fully paperless. Feel like I get around faster to go thru my statements when they're on my phone

Paperless i wouldn't get to see them and pay them, i would probably miss some payments.

You're not on autobill pay? That's the first thing I do when I get my new card, enable autobill. No way I'm going to take a chance being late on a CC payment with these APRs

Nope, and i like to review my statements, the charges etc. since i had fraud on some cards,

Both but if only one then paperless. It is always a reminder in case you forget something. With many AF's each year I need the reminder.

Paperless for at least a decade now. Very diligent about reading each statement, never missed a beat.  Couldn't imagine going back to mail (not that I even could, living abroad).

Most banks 'paperless' isn't an actual PDF emailed attachment, only an email 'reminder' to log in and download.
If places actually emailed out a PDF, I'd be a lot quicker to sign up for paperless.

I don't know why you would want that in an unsecured email, they usually have your cc # on them

most e-statements have the number mostly blocked out anyway.

Yes. There are a limited number of people who can target your mailbox, and they have to do it in public.
