which part of antwerp is 5 min walk from Astrid?

Diamond district. Also Antwerp Central Train Station is literally 2 mins from Astrid.

Is there a nice statehouse or other "normal" nice fleishige restaurant in Antwerp?

I heard that there's a new restaurant that just opened up recently. Is it good? Where's it located?

Yes, there are a few. (Hoffy's, Blue Lagoon)
The new restaurant... I imagine you're referring to Rivi's. Haven't been there yet but they say it's good, they also do takeout. It's pretty much in the center of the Jewish neighborhood

Hoffy's doesn't look too fancy to me... Would you suggest something to me?

I don't know. The taxi driver told my friend about it...

What makes you say that? Hoffy's definitely is the fanciest... and the priciest too ;)
P.S.. Also forgot to mention 'Al Ha'Esh' - another fleishig restaurant/takeout in the diamond district.

I had the same argument with another antwerpener... I don't know what make you guys think that Hoffy's is fancy. To me it looks (from the pictures) like a Yeshiva dining with food older than yeshiva ones  :P oh and prices rocking to the sky for no reason but the fact that it's a "landmark".

I went to Al Haesh Thursday night to get Chulent but for some reason he closed earlier this past week :(

I have a feeling we may have bumped into each other in Antwerp... ;)

There are Sherut/shuttle vans that drive between the tow. It's door-to-door service and probably your cheapest option.

in conclusion, i gather it makes the most sense to fly to brussels.....
Probably, though I don't know how easy it will be to get a train from BRU to Antwerp, or if you'd need to get to Brussels itself first.

It is in fact very easy to get a train from Brussels airport direct into the heart of the Jewish community. 25-30 min ride.
Did it just the other week. 4000 avios (off-peak) €21 tax LHR-BRU.
Train into Antwerp about €11 or €14.5 in 1st class

I took this bus.
Was 10€ and it stops near the train station in Antwerp.

Train is quicker/more convenient than the bus.
(We should be discussing this in the Brussels thread)

Wow. That's interesting. My registered Executive Club account address is in Belgium. I'm guessing that's what it is, maybe try changing your address just for the booking.
