Savings account with no monthly fees
« on: December 25, 2017, 10:02:11 AM »
I currently have a savings account with Investors Bank and their service is terrible. Where else, aside from Chase, is a good place to have a savings account, preferably with no month fees or minimums.
I have my other accounts with Chase but dont want the savings account linked.

Thanks

What’s the downside to having a chase savings ? What’s the problem if it’s linked to your other accounts ?

As far as service, I'm very happy with TD. But IDK the current details about their savings accounts.
If online works for you, Cap One & Discover are worth a look.

Alliant offers good rates, and having a relationship with them makes you eligible for the 3%/2.5% cashback card.

You're not supposed to do much with savings accounts other than occasional deposits or withdrawls, so the financial institution's service is basically irrelevant.

Discover savings
For $10k+ balances, Capital One gives 1.5 APY while Discover would be 1.4. Why is Discover better?

Discover doesn't have any minimum to get that percentage.

Waste of time. Can't believe I even clicked on that link. Too good to be true isn't true. To answer OPs question I'm very happy with Discover savings. The APY has been slowly going up over the last few months. Right now, I believe it's 1.5 without any minimum balance.

Yep, on the application it said 1.4 but after the account was opened it was 1.5
