I agree with your point for some people, and I mean these people who always end up with viruses when they try to
fix their computer, doctors after all are trying to piece the puzzle, when there's no risk like avoiding/taking medication without a doctor, it is a very good idea and can do no harm to do some homework and learn what your symptoms may or may not mean , on many occasions I have given a doc a new avenue to think of and it turned out I was right
