We stayed at the incredible PH. Quite a walk, but a lovely walk.
I'm sure there are closer options.

Greetings... Anyone with recent experience on ANA with kosher meals (KSML)? I have two flights, SYD-HND and HND-JFK, both allow me to select KSML... I saw a 'menu' on the ANA website and it mentions fish, fish, and more fish... Anyone have personal experience? Edible meal? Only fish? Thanks in advance...

I don't know about ANA but on JAL from NRT to SEA in 2023 we got shelf stable inedible garbage.  We made sure to get a nice meal from Chabad of Tokyo before our flight so we weren't hungry.

many thanks for sharing your experience... I have five hours on the ground as a connection, from 5:00 AM to 11:30 AM, I suppose I could try to arrange a pickup in the morning from Chabad ( and I am traveling with my own shelf stable stuff just in case... Gotta love My Own Meals in a pinch)

The problem with that is they first open around noon time (at least when we were there) and then begin preparing the food.  I'd suggest contacting them well enough in advance to ask if they can accommodate you.

ANA has much better food than JAL. Should be Hermolis or local Chabad food.

And if it is from Chabad Japan, any idea if it is all fish?

IIRC, both Hermolis and Chabad were fish.

I've spent Shabbos in the official Chabad in Tokyo and the unofficial Chabad in Kyoto. Both are great.

How about from a city perspective. Is the area close to chabad nicer in kyoto for walking around on shabbos?

Lovely spots to walk around either of them.

I would never spend time in Tokyo voluntarily, but Kyoto is beautiful.

was my feeling as well, at least for shabbos, figure that kyoto would be nicer for walking around
As of now, we plan on being in tokyo for 3 days, then kyoto area for 6 days, and then fly out to a nearby country for the continuation
