No one want's to share? Is it some secret?
Nothing that exciting. I'm sure you'll be happy with either hotel.

Is it more conveniently located for one-day tourist activities? Seems like it to me.

The train/subway system is easily accessible and can get you anywhere.

True, but are any places walking distance? Nick said the Tokyo tower and Ginza were within a 20 min walk. Are they worth seeing, or should I spend my time elsewhere?

Why would you go to Tokyo Tower over Skytree?

I wouldn't, I just forgot about the Skytree. Is the Imperial Palace worth a visit as well?

Isn't it only open 1 day a year or something?

I believe you can try to get access through some form of US government or something like that. Otherwise, yo can just walk along the walls. Nothing special.

Could be. It's definitely not clear from their website. The East Gardens are open to the public year round except Mondays and Fridays. I'll be there on a Monday, so that's out I guess. Any other not-to-miss-if-only-there-for-one-day attractions?

Akihabara
Senso-ji area in Asakusa
It also depends where are you going after Tokyo? Are you going to Kyoto?

What's the best way to get around Tokyo with metro? I've been looking into options that include the ride from HND to the city and then to NRT. There seem to be multiple day passes that include either the Tokyo Metro, Toei Subway, and/or JR. I also read that often it's not worth it to buy a day pass if you're just going to a few places.

It seems to cost 200 yen for a ride, but the airports are a lot more. Also last time I was in Tokyo they had tickets that were only available to foreigners. Do they still exist? Any ideas of best tickets to buy?

Should be enough for Skytree or a bite to eat.

Although I'd say it depends on the time of day. I had 8 hours on a NRT-HND layover from 4p-12a in the winter. Not much to do then.
