So all this and still no straight answer.

@Dan can you shed some light?

He's no kashrus expert either. There is no straight answer for the very simple reason that it's not a straight situation. The hechsher there is plain Rabbanut, and many would not normally rely on that. There are those, like @elya, who say that just like any other Rabbanut establishment you should not eat there if you want a mehadrin standard. There are others who say differently. Since they are representing themselves as having a standard above that of their hashgacha, you cannot rely on what others researched in the past, as the situation may have changed without them having to change hashgachos. You can choose to be safe and not eat there, or to do your own up to date research. Good luck

Once, it was at the breakfast at the Waldorf

The official hechsher is Rabbanut. There are many products that are Mehadrin. Your best bet would be to contact the hotel and get in touch with the Mashgiach and then make your decisions from there.

If you’re the type of guy who will trust rabanut, then why bother with you’re original question??  :o

Wait, can we start over? It's rabbanut? Isn't that the rabbis?

You missed the point... if you’re the type of guy that wants at least some sort of certificate... then rabanut is the equivalent of no certifacite at all..

Not ideal, but definitely not a problem
