If you sign up at your local bank or you call El Al you'll get only 50 points.

If you sign up ONLINE you'll get 100 matmid points.

You get the points after your first purchase.

To sign up for the regular card:

To sign up for the premium card:
https://www.elal.com/en/FrequentFlyer/FLYCARD/FlyCardPremium/Pages/FLY-CARD-PREMIUM.aspx


As far as I understand, you can close your account once you see the points in your account.

That's right. I called El Al which confirmed that you need an Israeli Teudat Zehut.
