When did you try to book? A friend I texted about this deal was successful in booking 2 business tickets from ORD an hour ago.

I booked. Got some errors, but apparently that was CC fraud alert. Once that was cleared booked a RT in J (for even less than I once booked on Transaero a"h).

I wonder if there's any other route globally that sees such a variety of equipment flown as the AMM-TLV does. I have an A321 one way end an E195 the other way, and I've seen 787 on this route.

Anyone that has flown NYC-AMM-TLV-AMM-NYC, what are recommended seats?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Learning the hard way.

1. RJ doesn't fly daily out of NYC.
2. These tickets are 100% non-refundable. Trying to change this ticket with a connection via ORD due to medical emergency, results in them asking for around $3,000. Can buy brand new ticket on TK with better connection for less.

Time to see how good Citi coverage is.

Didn't buy travel insurance? Didn't you post in the travel insurance thread that you always buy a plan? Or could be I mixed you up with someone.

I don't always buy insurance.

I bought this ticket with quite strong certainty that I would stick to these travel dates (Yahrzeit).

I did buy with Citi Premier card, that does provide certain coverage (and when I called them to ask about the current situation they said it would be covered, but I'm not sure how this might be handled in this situation where I have to travel 2 weeks early because of medical emergency on the other side). Will report back once I get everything figured out.

Update?
Called RJ in TLV to cancel.

They said they are canceling the flight segments but ticket remains valid. I guess we'll have to see what happens when I try to book flight segments for the ticket.

Next step is claiming with Citi. Will work on that next week.

I don't think I'll book RJ again.

Phone reps won't deal with Web bookings, can only deal via email. Response time is measured in days. Even if I was able to change ticket for a fee, their 3x schedule out of JFK means that not many options exist.

Luckily in this case I didn't lose anything, as Citi covered anything RJ didn't refund (they only refunded taxes of about $100 out of roughly $1400 paid for ticket).

Well for $1400 I wouldn’t expect a better customer service...I guess convenience is also worth $$ I would buy if they have this sale again

I had to give up this ticket and bought one on TK for under $2,100. While TK isn't perfect, there are a lot more schedule options when flying NYC-TLV-NYC. Also on TK Wifi is free in J (unlike many other airlines, which either don't have it, or charge for it).
