I had to give up this ticket and bought one on TK for under $2,100. While TK isn't perfect, there are a lot more schedule options when flying NYC-TLV-NYC. Also on TK Wifi is free in J (unlike many other airlines, which either don't have it, or charge for it).

I probably searched Kayak or Momondo, booked with Justfly.com for same day departure.

When I needed to change the return on that ticket TK call center wouldn't do it, so I had to call Justfly.com (they charged extra for the change - luckily that too was reimbursed by Citi). When I had to change the return a second time, I called TK ticket office in TLV. While they did it, they do require sending in a signed credit card form for the change fee (which they won't waive even in cases of medical emergency).
