Going to be a long time until they're fully autonomous with no license required.

Your talking a stand by saying the issue is the license over accelerating the gas!

A vort from my rebbi  8)
This may not be be a satisfactory answer for you, but: Is the world tznius? No. So you are better off staying at home (or go sit in the beis hamedrash).
Is this doable path for everyone? Not really
Now, you can ask the same questions regarding the women going out in the world.

How about having a telephone? It can facilitate talking lashon hara.

I'm just curious, do u know what those times were like?? Who are you to say that?! And y was the תורה given in the מדבר to teach you that it doesn't change.......
Read my post again. Yes, those times were different. Women stayed home. According to you, a baby born on Shabbos in the 8th month, we would not allowed to do anything to save him, since up until recently, there was no chance he would survive. Torah doesn't change, but situations do.

Curious. Are you married? If yes, how long?
Yes I’m married for a year. Yes my wife drives and my mother as well as my sisters all drive. I would freak out if my wife would tell me she doesn’t wana drive because of tzinus. All I was saying is I understand the views of the people who prohibit woman from driving. People like taking words out of my mouth.
People here are mushpa from the modern world so they can’t fathom such an idea.

I think you'll have a different view after a few years of marriage.
If you don't care why would you comment?

We could fathom such an idea. We are just saying that this idea is not relevant to the modern world where women are all over anyways.

Gender is binary.

But opinions aren't. For example:

Can't or not allowed to?

Poll needs updating. Need options for allowed but shouldn't, etc.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Why is that helpful? I have no interest in someone's personal opinions on whether his spouse should or should not, just whether it is or isn't allowed.

I think that really they shouldn’t be going to the park either, again in the ultimate world of tzinus. That would be too hard for anybody to keep. They made a black and white rule that’s easy to enforce.

I wasn't so interested in what you think of others views. I was more trying to understand that you stated that really, ultimately women shouldn't be going to the park either but it's too hard so we do. Do you really believe that? And see value in that? Do you think the only reason "its ok" for women to go to the park is because it's too hard to not?

The way some people here are speaking of 'tznius' it's as if that is the main goal that Hashem wanted.

That's all they know about Yiddishkeit, since the schools stress nothing else. They don't mention His Name, otherwise.

Gender is binary.
The progressive answer to that would be, that such a statement comes from the same antiquated thinking that prohibits women from driving.

They would tell you that there are definitely more than two genders.

What does not driving have to do with staying at home?

What makes walking/Uber/cab/bus/subway inherently better?
Unfortunately, that's the way rules work in our communities. You have to keep the letter of the law, and that's all that matters.
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

I don't think it's because it's better or worse. It's more that there should be a "geder" in place.

Why is the geder driving?
Why not Uber/cab/bus/subway?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

It’s less tzinus to drive then to get a ride in the car. Not everyone can understand everything . I don’t claim to understand the way airline policies work etc.
