We are taking across the whole spectrum. Women are safer (less risk) drivers!!!
Not in my community!
Now, I will admit that young (macho type) males in the 17-25 age group are probably a much greater risk than females in that age group, but once we are talking about more mature people (and I don't include one of my older BILs in that group) there's no doubt in my mind that female drivers are a greater risk (might not be in fatalities or dollar value of damage, but definitely in number of accidents). IME women just don't have the proper awareness of surroundings.
Example from yesterday, one female feels unconfident taking a car out of a narrow driveway, and asks another female who regularly uses that driveway to do it for her. Car emerges from driveway scathed. That's besides for the fact that another female placed the car in the driveway in the first place, and drove it in head first, which is unsafe, rather than doing it the safe way and backing in.
