Many. They do let women work these days. Many women have jobs out of the house.  Like many things, this idea is somehow 'better' and more from and to change it would somehow be going down a madrega in their eyes.
True.

But the chassidishe world doesn't change unless it's a must. Women work because they need to bring food on the table
Where does the concept of a "Jewish mother" being told to sit at home and cook dinner because that's their "role" come from?
It's not that.
My understanding is that the perception is that a women that drives becomes a different women.

It's too bad we'll never hear in this thread from the people whose wives have been forbidden to drive...

I believe that there are many here...
My cousin is a 5th grade Rebbe in a boys  Yeshiva and was told he had to stop riding his bike to school.

Ah. I love religion.

Woman shouldn’t be going to be grocery either in the ultimate world of tzinus. Even the chasidim who forbid the woman from driving have to make some line.
I could hear not having them go to the grocery over not having them drive. Once you have them going shopping and whatnot, having them drive themselves in private without a random guy in the car would make more sense from a tznius perspective, no?

כל כבודה בת מלך פנימה means exactly that
Umm it doesn't translate as that. What's the source that it means that?

Exactly the point I can't understand. And the taxi issue as well. I have no understanding of this policy
The taxi issue comes with serious issues....and halachacly ( which every thread becomes)is unacceptable in way too many instances.

When will we finally admit that we live in communities that are  misogynistic and create rules and regulations that make our lives infinitely more complicated than they should be.

This has nothing to do with it. If my sons 5th grade rebbe came riding in on a bike I would think he was a nebach.

My feeling of yiddishkeit.
So go ruin the lives of thousands of people because of your dumb feeling. None of these people running these schools and making these gezeiros seem to have an inkling of Halacha, hashkafa, abd how leading a tzibbur works.

Is it tznius to have to go with a cab driver to buy groceries or go to the doctor?
Nobody will say that you can’t go to a doctor. In the ultimate world of tzinus woman should not leave their home unless they must. Obviously that’s too hard to enforce such rules in any community so they made a black and white rule no driving.
I’m not saying that I agree to this and I deff don’t practice it but it makes sense.

Recently Ger and Bobov in Brooklyn have held asifos to institute new rules and regulations. Most pertain to Women. The people that created the rules and regulations have women on their mind all day. Just so very interesting...

Their excuse was that he looks "too cool".
Either way.

He had to find other forms of exercise.

Makes sense that they created this rule to try to get women to stay home?

Does make sense.
It's a great way to take away a nice amount of their independence.

Again, how does it make sense that a woman can take her kids to the park so long as she walks or takes a cab, but not if she drives?

...or are you saying women can't go to the park either?  :-\

Pls no way he looked “to cool”. I think u can agree that a rebbe has to be someone to look up to. He can’t be wearing stained tie and ripped suit either.

There are rules and regulations that you cannot fathom.

He's a younger cool kind of guy. So I believe it. He was too out in the open.

And at least in Israel many many of the Chassidish Rabeeim I saw looked like no one ever taught them how to get dressed and far from what I consider to be meinchlicht.

The idea to look proper is one thing. How riding a bike became to be seen as improper is where the problem is.
