Amex has raised the MR to Hilton transfer ratio from 1:1.5 to 1:2.
As per DOC this is effective immediately.

The new ratio makes the BB+ earn more HH for non-category spend than the Amex Hilton cards ($500=1K MR=2K HH vs. $500=1500HH).

Cute, but are there people that use a Hilton card for non-bonus spend?

A disguise for what? Your Hilton card?

Imagine if they would've focused on another program.
Depending on when they accumulated them, many other programs may have been a worse choice.

Depends on many factors. For instance how/where you spend, and also, it wasn't always this hard to stockpile miles. Dan himself says, a lot of his stash was from past eras
