i'm looking for a decent video camera in the $100-$300 range doesnt have to be a great one

Except recommending Bank Direct instead of interest earning savings this is a question that gets the same answer over and over again. Buy a regular camera with video.

thanks but i specifically dont want a regular camera, im looking for a video camera and also no flip

If it's anything like the Panasonic SD600K it'll be great. I bought that earlier this year for $299 from amazon and everyone who sees video from it is in awe of just how good it is:

1080p from the videocamera can be seen here:

You need to make it full-screen and then you can set it to 1080p.

No, I'm not a very good videographer and it was taken all the way up from the splash-free section.

You're right, it does look extremely good, but that's no $299 video camera... (current selling price on Amazon is $500+)

Quick question. When if plays on 480p on my laptop it runs smoothly, while when i had it run on 1080p it didn't seem to run smoothly. What can be the reason?

I wasn't questioning that you paid $300 for it on Amazon (I often check price history on CamelCamelCamel or The Tracktor), I misunderstood you as suggesting that for the OP in the $100-300 range.
