No. The only way to use it is if the owner of the cert is on the same flight (he doesn't need to be be upgraded though).

How can I pay someone using skymiles best? I transferred points to skymiles with the intention of gifting them to my friends account. I did not realize there is a tremendous cost for gifting miles which is bizarre to me. Now I’m stuck w skymiles

Delta marketplace doesn’t work anymore so buying delta gc’s that way is out.

What is the general value of skymiles per mile?
Aside from giving my friend my account login to use the miles when he wants, what else  can I do?

I see that Delta has plenty of dates nyc- tlv for 280k instead of 480k, is that new ? I thought they always charge 480 for their own metal

It was NOT always like that. In regards to the first question, it seems that those dates when paying $ it's going for $2800ish  (at least when I checked)and with sky miles being dynamic it's just pricing it at around 1cpp...
