Are they spose to be for any domestic flight

they are for select short haul flights, for example LAX-SFO i believe the market value for the 5k flights is about $70-$80 each way

I just received the 50k sign up bonus from my Delta Amex. Should I sell the mies, or should I hope for transcon BusinessElite availability?

So I guess the real question is if I should keep them and endure two free trips in economy, or sell them and fly in a premium cabin on UA or AA.

Two free trips? You're assuming you'll find lowest-level availability.

Why'd you apply for the card without having a plan for what you'll do with the miles?

You don't apply for a card until you have a trip planned??

Then you aren't maximizing your applications.

I mean, why apply for the Delta over an MR or SPG card for example? Maybe one of the latter cards is going to end up being more valuable to you.

Who said I applied for DL?

I just mean that I often sign up for cards without knowing what Im going to do with the miles.

Thus I have enough miles whenever I want to do anything.
