Is it true in order receive Delta Skymiles on partner flights you need to have a previous account with Delta?
If not you are limited to only receive miles fron flights within 30 days?
like united?

Crazy question. I have two tickets to Florida for Purim week (thanks to Dansdeals, of course). BH my granddaughter is getting married that week and I have to cancel my flight. I bought insurance, but I understand that's really for illness. Does anyone have any idea how I can cancel and not lose the money (a credit would be fine as well).

Just noticed that you can fly nonstop from LAX-JFK for 7,500 skypesos on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through January and February. Is this news?

Thanks. Is it better to call now or closer to Purim (the tickets are for that week)?

We had an 80 minute schedule change on an award ticket in April that will get us in at 11 pm and wreak havoc on my young daughter's sleep schedule (she's not a good sleeper).  Only other option Delta is offering me is to overnight in Atlanta and take the connecting flight out the next day.  I'd much prefer to cancel and book a more reasonable American Airlines flight that gets in at 7:30 pm, but a phone call and twitter DM have both responded that they can't refund unless it's at least a 90 minute schedule change.  Any chance that HUCA would work or is Delta pretty strict about the 90+ minute rule for refunds/redeposit fee waivers?

Got a delta award booked for 16K that I won't be able to use.
The redeposit fee is $150, which is almost a wash with the value of the miles, and must be done at least 72 hrs before flight.
There's a chance they change schedule, weather delay, etc. on the flight.
Would they redeposit the miles if the flight is changed/delayed >1hr?
Any other options here?

They said no. They'll charge 100 per ticket which leaves me with $10. I'll call again I guess.

In the end there was a very helpful storm on Jan 19-20 that Delta issued a weather waiver for.
Even though the website does not let you cancel awards within 72 hours, the phone rep was able to cancel and redeposit the miles with no problems.

Last year I had a ticket for the day of a snow storm, but they didn't issue waivers until right before or until flights where canceled shortly before. I got lucky and had a 20 minute schedule change a few days before, so the day before the storm I changed my ticket to that day. By the time I showed up to my flight 4 hours later the cancellations already came in and there where people where running into the airport crying at the check in desk that they needed to be on a flight.

I'm not who you think I am.

I'm 13 miles short for an award.
Any quick way to get 13 miles as I'd rather not transfer 1,000 Amex points?
