I fly to Israel 15-20 times a year on Business. Have been doing it for 20 years already. I live in YYZ.
Have been through it all. ELAL, AC, stops, what not. Currently am loyal to United. I hate to pay cash when I know there is a whole world of points.
Every trip is its own parshah. Used to buy 10x ECO upgrade-able books with ELAL, but hated the old plane. The TP status gave nothing. New plane doesn't have the 10 book anymore, and more often than not there is no upgrade, so end up sitting in ECO way to often.
Now I am with UA, and mostly fly AC metal. I credit to UA and am now a 1K. Also worthless, and I fly with stops and ECO way to often. I will not pay more than $3K for a ticket, ever.
I was never into Credit Cards. Now finally I set myself up with Chase cards and am amassing UR. There is no way I will ever do swiping etc, and I don't spend more than 400K a year on cards, so the most points i can get to is about 700K realistically. Obviously will make sure to get signup bonuses to.
BUT... UA to Israel is 180K a way, I simply can't pay that. I know for a fact there is a way to force saver space to 75K one way. Dan bragged about it once when he took his family to Israel for Shavuos, and there is an agent in Monsey who knows it, but only uses it to TLV when he is on the flight.
I suspect someone here can help. I am willing to pay $10,000 for this secret, and am promising not to share it with anyone.
