wow! I guess this isnt too surprising as it has gotten a lot of attention recently and their previous methods of cracking down really just limited it but nothing else.  But this is a huge development.

This was inevitable.

Many banks in Brooklyn already stopped taking the coins a long time ago.

The Mint was wasting their time and money anyway. These dollar coins never took off. Nobody wants them, they are heavy, clunky and impractical for daily use. What a waste...

Don't worry. There are hundreds of senators and congressmen that work long hard days finding ways to waste our money, I'm sure they'll find other ways to waste the money 'saved' by terminating this program.

Oh yes, no doubt about that. In fact it's quite embarrassing the the Federal government wasted so much money on this to begin with.
