She'll first have to establish credit  before jumping for the miles. A student card plus being added as an authorized user on an established card is the way to go.

You can add her as a JOINT account holder to a established chase card, she will have established credit in no time.

It's cool to see older folks playing the game too. My great aunt who's in her 70's has been playing the CC - miles game for years and is still at it.

with all the spending I did in my life time , if they had the deals that  they have today , I would be living on airplanes !!--- i know u have heard this " when i was  young" ....

I  will just leave it as I have been with Amex now for over 40 years --and they "still " charge me a fee -- so what ever I can get in points ,I earned --

I do appreciate all the input that I have read , I do not write much but do read almost everything --it is the only way to learn-READ AND READ MORE

I noticed this a few years back. But question:

When I was added as an AU on a citi card, my social sec. # was not given during the application process (or anytime after that), but it definitely showed up on my credit report.

I later had it removed by disputing it with experian, but how in the world did they get my social from just my name?

Sometimes if things add up, like your name address and dob. it can show up on the report.

Yeah, except the ONLY thing given was my name. No address, no DOB, no phone # - nothing besides my name.

Weeeeird.

Did you give them address? DOB? phone #?
