I would actually like to see this happen, and a case go for a legal challenge. I think shuls (and lehavdil theaters etc.) should get an exemption and allow blocking of cell phone signals.
Only with a notice posted.

What happens if  C"V there's an emergency and you lose 20 seconds of being able to call Hatzolah or 911 while waiting to find a landline or to get out of the blocked zone?

or if someone can't get in touch with you during an emergency like a missile alert from Hawaii

thats why hatzola reccomends every shul have a highly visible " red phone" direct line..... those are probably faster than a cell phone if its in the right place because its direct dial & dispatch can immediately see where you are calling from
May you slide down the banister of happiness & get many splinters of success up your career.

every soul should have landline for shakos when most people (Drs, hatzolah) don't have a cell phone

There is ways to program a raspberry P1 to jam signals for Wi-Fi maybe cell signals as well(I don't know how)

Either way I hope that was a joke about putting it in shul, it would not solve "the issue" but just the symptom.

Let alone potentially setting yourself up for disaster if/when people find out about it.

Whatever, just sayin...

I agree that it doesn't "solve" the "issue" but does address the symptom. That being said, most people do see value in addressing symptoms, or else sales of ibuprofen and acetaminophen would plunge.

No need to keep it secret. On the contrary, have it well publicized.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

An emergency phone is coming, a panic button exists.
We are talking about a big room, that's it.

The only difference is that this "pill" helps ones headach but gives a headach to others..

Also, I believe people that are "so obsessed" with it to the extent of putting a jammer also have an underlying issue just like the ones actually on the phone.

But yes, it will solve your "headach" and it is a open market.

Careful with that, it might be CIA/FBI.
I have a friend who was learning in chem1 about the different elements and decided to see if he can buy uranium online. At first he didn't find but as he continued to search he found. After informing his professor online he found uranium online he told him to stop searching for it's probably the FBI/CIA

Both illegal and the gov't doesn't discriminate on the type of crime to prosecute. If it's illegal they'll catch you and prosecute you.

He wrote that it’s not for use in the US. It’s possible wherever he is it’s not illegal.

Do you really believe that? You really think they don't pay more attention to something which can be a serious national security threat?

Not always, & they can consider this a threat too. Can be used to prevent calling for help during an attack.
