Chase Trifecta

I have all three of these, but I don't understand how it works? If I use my Sapphire preferred I get 10 points per transaction on anything I buy?

You must use the freedom card to get the 10 points per transaction, the only thing that the Sapphire card helps is, that that way your ultimate rewards points could be converted to airlines, hotels etc.

Ok I think I understand now. Since I have the Saph Pref I can use my points from my Freedom card as if they were Saph Pref points correct?

Correct

+1 but you do have to transfer them from your Freedom card to your Sapphire Preferred card in order to transfer them to airline/hotel/rail reward points.

Would upgrading your card to the freedom card effect your credit score?

I'm very interested, I have the freedom and sapphire and I only plan to use them for CO transfers. I have the bonus package tied to my freedom for at least a year. I've not tried making multiple small penny transactions, but maybe I'll start. Which is better in this case Freedom or Sapphire. the Sapphire is giving double points now on all purchases I believe.

2x on travel and dining AFAIK, unless you prove otherwise.

Sometimes Chase runs promotions on the Sapphire cards where they send you a code and you get 2x points on all purchases for 3-4 months at a time. It's pretty sweet, but invite only.

Let me see if I get this straight:
In order to get the 10 points per transaction you must have a Chase checking account?
The 10 points per transaction, is that forever or is it a limited offer?

yesabout the checking account, and as of now it is not a time limited offer but they may stop it at any time.

I spoke to the head of the Chase Freedom department when I was in NYC last and chastised him about not publicizing the 10 point/transaction benefit more.  From what he said I don't think the benefit will go away.  If anything "they want to reward Chase checking+credit card customers even more."

Whole wallet penetration is really important to Chase.

It makes it harder for you to switch banks and thus (they hope it) breeds loyalty.

makes sense.  i was just saying that there are no guarantees that it is there forever but there is no reason to think it will go away.

Can someone post a link to the best Freedom offer out there?
Also, I sometimes get in the mail different incentives for opening Chase checking account, like $100 or the like, though right now i have none.
Any ideas what the best offer for checking is and how to get it?

Love how the term "Trifecta" that I gave this caught on.
Just saw a powerpoint given during FTU that called it that as well :)
