If the inverter is off, wouldn't there be zero production reported? I can see on coned website they are banking solar production.

ouch if this passes?

Flett Exchange SREC Clients,

On Thursday, May 15, the Assembly State and Local Government Committee will be taking testimony (only) in Trenton on A-5460 (Schnall) that will wind down your SREC payments starting in June until the end of either your 15 or 10 year SREC eligibility. If passed, your SRECs will be worth less than $50 in June and quickly go below $10.

We respectfully urge you to email your assembly person today and express your opposition to A5460. Inform them that reducing or ending the SREC program is a blatant betrayal of trust and most of all a significant economic hardship without the monthly payments to pay down debt for investing in renewable energy. Please take a moment and submit your comment(s) now.

Michael Flett will be testifying in opposition to the bill on Thursday on your behalf.

Assembly State and Local Government Committee hearing Bill A-5460 on Thursday, May 15th

Lisa Swain aswswain@njleg.org Fair Lawn, Bergen County

Mitchelle Drulis aswdrulis@njleg.org  Flemington, Hunterdon County

Alexander Schnall asmschnall@njleg.org  Lakewood, Ocean County

Erick Simonsen asmsimonsen@njleg.org  Lower Township, Cape May

Claire Swift  aswswift@njleg.org  Egg Harbor, Atlantic County

Hopefully, with your help, we can preserve the SREC program in the form that was in place when you made your solar investment on your home or business,

Thank you for your continued business,

I am pretty sure this only applies SREC producing systems installed before 2021 and not TREC producing systems that are state guaranteed.

Also, only ouch to the solar owner but YAY! for anyone paying for electricity in NJ where this change will directly cut 2 cents per kWh off of everyone's energy bill. That said, this provision has low odds of passing.

A lot of us installed way before 2021 and counted on the SREC sales to fund our lease or loan ownership payments.  The reduction from $200 to $50 per SREC would seemingly override any energy bill savings of 2 cents per KWH

Override for who? Your SRECs are being paid for by all the other rate payers.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

for us that relied on 10 to 15 year receipt of SREC payments when we invested in solar panels.  Some of us took loans(10-20 years) and are paying monthly installments.  I know there was no guarantee and I guess too bad for us but I think most of us did not expect such a potential drastic reduction

Of course this ignores that the costs for electricity and therefore the energy savings have doubled for supply and close to it for delivery since 2020.

You can rest easy it has almost no chance of actually getting cut to that level if it even gets cut all which is also a slim chance.
