Obviously, determining guilt or innocence requires examining all of the evidence, which is the job of the detectives, lawyers, judges, police, FBI, victims, psychiatrists, or other people, all of whom are not me.

I just offered my interpretation of a sliver of the evidence contained in a single word.

Whether or not he sent out the phishing email should not distract anyone from the fact that there was hundreds of thousands of dollars owed to vendors, even if the money was sent to the correct bank. The Passover trip was never happening. The alleged phishing scam, if guilty, would be the tiny cherry on top.

We do not have proof of everything.

There is though, lots of circumstantial evidence, self-incriminating information, and a giant middle finger to everyone who is out thousands of dollars.

Of course everyone hopes that this messy situation gets resolved, but it ain't looking good for the victims...

The hotel + the phishing payment was not close to paying the hotel bill. No one was seeing any money back whether or not there was an alleged phishing scam.

So why did he make any real payments to the hotel ?

Theory: to buy time with the hotel so he had the optics of having a legit program so he can advertise and collect more. Same reason all schemes pay the first investors, to buy time and credit.
