Why do people go to pesach programs to begin with?!?!
Some people have various reasons why they are unable to make Yom Tov for themselves.

Personally I'm worried about spoiling my kids, which is one of the reasons I'll be home again this year. But the draw is hardly a mystery.
Is that a long term decision due to their age?

Unable? I don't think that's the draw.

No. I just don't want it to be an every year occurrence.
I've worked at a program twice so far.
Lots of pros and cons in gashmius and ruchniyus.

That depends on the program but absolutely. Many are full of seniors who can't handle it. There are also others that while not unable there are other reasons why going away makes a lot of sense. There are many on their second marriage where going away is the best way to avoid the question of whose children to go to. Many are families where both parents are professionals (especially accountants with pesach often being around Apr 15) where preparing for pesach would be extremely difficult. THere are other similar reasons.

I wouldn't say those are the majority.

The pros in gashmiyus are the cons in ruchniyus and vice versa
Why would a pro in ruchniyus be a con in gashmiyus?

If only those were the only types of reasons that people go, these programs (and the ads) would look very different.

That very much depends on the program, but it is still the best answer to @chevron

Who ever said that the majority should be going?

Not every program looks the same.

I am sure they don’t. But there seem to be some common denominators to those discussed on DDF.

FTR, some of the organizers are very ehrliche yidden, and try their best to provide the highest standards within the parameters of what’s expected by the participants. And even for those ehrliche people that run programs, the motivation for arranging them is money, and not a sincere concern for people that can’t make their own Pesach.

I've seen some of the better ones discussed here as well. Of course the reason they make it is for money. So what?

For one thing, the 2 programs I've been to have featured truly inspiring speakers.

I wouldn't have had that same inspiration at home.

I'm just not sure why you assume that just because the ad doesn't mention anything about the kashrus it means people don't inquire about it when they call.
The fact that there is no website and it's not posted anywhere means that they can say what they want..( which seems to be the case according the Daves321 account of the kitchen scenario ). And it's based on the original issue about disputing the CC charge if it's not what was discribed
I agree. Our general community care very little about kashrus. This is just another proof. Ppl are satisfied with *any* rubber stamp etc. As long as it's ok with the neighbors.
That's definitely an issue which deserves it's own popcorn thread.

I was wondering why this was in JS to begin with if this is to become a serious thread on Pesach TRs and info.

Now I understand...

But perhaps the mods can split it
