Sure, most of them will. Many of them while they're mocking their own yeshiva for giving kavod to the guy.
But then there's the few who will say, maybe he chose the right path after all.

Was it all worthwhile for the yeshiva?
I can't imagine that there would be even a few who would say maybe he picked the right path.

And about the yeshivas perspective. They don't view honoring someone who went to college as a hypocritical move. Because they view it as the wrong path but for that person alone it was the right one (due to his inability to stay in learning). And they expect the student body to understand that. As opposed to not inviting someone who's wife doesn't dress properly, which they don't see any reason to say that that is the right derech for that person.

i want to see you walk up to him at of the blue, and (at least 25 years his junior) berate him for not looking into the hashgocha... its  easy to bash from behind a computer....
having been to multiple programs, I can say that hachana is a huge issue all programs struggle with. try to get food for 1000+ people ready in an hour. good luck

I never said to bash
I genuinely would want to understand his thinking

i strongly hope that you are wrong . yiddishkeit only exists because we hold true to our mesorah . if someones wife dresses immodestly and we honor that person that shows that we vale his money more than our torah. i was brought up to sacrifice for what i believe in.

i apologize for being blunt but as you said yourself you were turned off from frumkeit when you were younger ... it seems like you still werent turned back on in a hashkafically correct way

What rubbish. Which mesorah do you speak of ? Sitting and learning all day and living off government funding isnt our mesorah.

Who decides what dress code is jewish? did the jews at har sinai wear black hats ?

I'm not the right guy to defend frum people. But let's not make this too hostile. I don't know how to satisfactorily answer your disliking of people sitting and learning while being supported by the government. But it has to do with frum people's belief that learning is extremely important. Therefore they feel like they are giving something in return for the government's support.

And in regards to dress code which was the original topic you had a problem with. Dress code is part of halacha, so I'm not sure what you mean by who decides dress code. A smach to the custom for wearing a uniform (black hats) is from mitzrayim where frum people believe they didn't change the way they dressed.

the key word over here is tznius which is an integral part of yiddishkeit. everything else you mentioned is irrelevant to the topic at hand no one said anything about government assistance or black hats or sitting and learning all day  or anything of the sort .

Now we get to the bottom of it. You have a problem with the whole yeshiva lifestyle and denigrate it but expect them to be tolerant of other lifestyles to the degree that they should be willing to compromise their belief system to accommodate those who would dress in a way that conflicts with their belief.....

Definitely not a mesorah of כחי ועוצם ידי, but a mesorah of ביטול, הכנעה וקבלת עול, along with ועשית ככל אשר יורוך!
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Didn’t they ask for the clothing of the Egyptians?

I think that was when they left. The maala was when they were there, they didn't change. Secondly could be clothing is just considered valuables. And could be there were some universal clothing that everyone wears.

That is what the women were commanded to do and to place them on their children.
