Mods think it's a good idea to make a wiki of what everyone ended up doing last year in terms of refunds?
More importantly if whatever proclaimed policy was followed up on.

Everyone got a 2021 credit last year, and many programs aren’t reopening?

So let that be included as well?
Personally some relatives of mine got a credit for whatever was paid last year to galitzky program in italy. But I don't think he's opening this year... So it's a 2022 credit basically. In general he's in business for close to 25 years so I'd say he has a good rep but at the end of the day he's currently holding the cash

His website (galitzky.com) is currently down
Still looking for a good MS method :)

What were their T&Cs and how did it compare to what happened in the end?

I’m not following your question. Are you asking whether the T&C allowed them to steal 35%?

...and nothing prevents him from increasing his price by the amount of the credit.

True. But there's still a max extent he can stretch that to without alienating both returning and new customers for example in the case of %100 credit... He'd have to double his price

Most programs have highly negotiable rates.
Rates may be less negotiable if you're locked in with funds...

Or he runs announced a program last minute this year (2021), and come 2022 he’ll tell you “whoops, should have used your credit last year, now it’s expired”.

Not just rates. Once you’re locked in they have no incentive to give you more value (e.g. better room, extra night, etc) for your money.

Yes.

The T&C provided that guests forfeit their money if they cancel. Didn’t mention whether Kosherica can cancel and keep your money. No one would’ve agreed to that.

Furthermore, they will certainly say that they had to raise prices significantly to recoup their unprecedented losses. Remember, we are all in this together - except when the owner has a successful year.

But don't these programs tend to operate at a razor thin margin usually? How's that affordable?
They may be able to negotiate better this year. For example a hotel would rent out the entire hotel for cheaper this year because they can't make as much money by operating normally.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the established programs that are open this year are sold out at top rates. I definitely know that is the case with some. People want ot go away. Look at Miami for the last 4 months.

Would explain why KMR hasn't put out a single ad for pesach. Not even on their own website. And yes, they are operating this year from what I've heard. Maybe they're just relying on their regulars who are in their email list etc

Last year people were predicting that the whole Pesach hotel industry would never recover...

Anecdotally, there seems to be more demand this year to rent houses for pesach in my neighborhood (Hollywood, FL). I've seen offers of $15k for modest homes (3 bedroom 2.5bath house w/ pool) for 10 days. I'm not interested in going to a hotel, but it did make me wonder if I would break even going to a program (2 adults + 2 children + 1 infant).

I got an email from Pesach on the Mountain a week ago saying they're sold out.

Much more than break even, as you wouldn't need to buy food.

What was the basis for them saying that?
