Going on Birthright even after having studied there
« on: January 29, 2018, 05:21:00 PM »
Hi All,

Since they raised the age eligibility for Birthright I've been considering applying.
I have 2 questions and was wondering if anyone here might be able to help.

1: I was in a very religious school and didn't do any touring, will they let that slide? additionally, Do they really care about this requirement to begin with?

2: Do they verify if you've actually studied there? (I've read on their website that when you land the officials will check your history and if you're found out to have studied there then you will have to pay for the trip and for your flight back)

All feedback is appreciated.
Thanks

Yeah, you can't go on birthright.

But, you've come to the right place.  Open a few cc's, spend a few dollars with the UPS method, fly to Israel, ask us if Waldorf is kosher enough ... write a TR.

Are you asking if you can get away with lying to a charity organization to get a free trip that you don't deserve?

Does it make you feel good to make a new member feel bad?  The person is asking a legit question searching for a possible legit loophole or condition where birthright will pay for it.  Even if it doesn't seem likely...is it too hard to answer with respect?

Not only was your answer to the OP fine (with some humor to boot), but if you thought I didn't read the OP (I did) your comment to me was said in a very respectful way.  Yasher koiach.
