FODMAP - Alcoholic Drinks
« on: February 28, 2018, 08:28:14 AM »
Hi my wife can only eat low fodmap foods. (To know what foods those are and what fodmap is read this page this a short summary of fodmap and a list of high and low fodmap foods ( https://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/ )).
Now the real discussion is I want to make my wife an amazing alcoholic concoction that will taste good and be strong for Purim Tomorrow. The only alcohol she can really have is vodka so if people know of any good vodka mixtures that are also low fodmap please let me know and you will be part of our simchas Purim TIA

Google "Moscow Mule" to see if thats something she would like. (Vodka, lime, Ginger beer)

Or a Bay Breeze for something sweeter- Cranberry, pineapple and vodka (+orange juice optional).

That link also says whiskey is okay as well as any clear type

Alcohol – is an irritant to the gut, limited intake advised:

Beer – limited to one drink
    Clear spirits such as Vodka
    Gin
    Whiskey
Wine – limited to one drink
Feelings don't care about your facts

She can’t have sulfates so wine is out and she does not like whiskey

Even as a part of mixed drinks? It looks like most mixed drinks are okay.
