Would Amex be able to see that I bought GoC at Toys R Us if I am using it to get spend bonus?
I assume TRU would still work towards SUB
Does the federal law detail the minimum age for kindergarten? My childrens school has nursery (age 3), kindergarten (age 4), pre-1a (age 5) and payments for all levels are mixed together.
federal is k-12, nursery is dependent care/ FSA- which is a credit on your federal return way more valuebale
Yes but I think kindergarten means age 5, what our school calls pre-1A.
so your kid goes from nursery to pre 1A, kindergarten, 1st grade?
Uh oh. TRU says they can't sell me more than $1,000. Cashier called the manager and manager called regional. Something about their being in bankruptcy. With management like this, it is no surprise why they are going under.
DW just did 10k yesterday. They made her split into 2 purchases of 5k.
Must be YMMV.
I've bought 20k+ in one shot from TRU. No such rule.
And once you buy 20k+ in TRU (gc’s I assume) what do you do with them? You earned the MS points but isn’t that only worth about 2 maybe 3 %? If so, where is the gain when you sell the GC’s for a greater discount than that 2-3% ? So much activity on these threads, I wish I understood this.
There is no reselling. Use the GoC GC as it is intended. Load it onto their website, which you link to your 529 plan. Then use the money to pay for college or HS.
But doesn’t GoC charge a percentage that would offset the percentage gain from acquiring the points?
For example, if you earn 2% worth of points when you buy the TRU GC, even assuming they are purchased without any additional charge, and if GoC charges 3% to accept the TRU GC, then where is the gain? I just don’t understand the numbers, please explain clearly.
Read the original post. When you buy a $500 GC in store at TRU it's a 1.2% fee. There are cards that give you more than 1.2% back + you can meet spending thresholds.
