Regarding today's Avis $30/day deal:

So a question - going to Los Angeles this year, and rentals for my 5 days are expensive. Right now we booked Silvercar at around $270 for the 5 days, and they're actually cheaper than all rental car agencies. If I bought 5 of these, 1) Do they included all taxes and fees on the car 2) Do they include insurance, and if not, is there any way to get insurance through a credit card since you're using the certificates, so I assume you're not paying for anything unless you want to buy insurance through them? If I still have to pay for insurance, I might as well use Silvercar and not bother with this. Thanks.

Just realized they sold the Hertz points yesterday. I would've like to at least try to get them.

@Dan Why did you stop posting about them?

Did anyone buy the Alamo GC this year or in 2017? I am wondering if someone can see the terms from the email and if maybe they changed.

I bought in 2016 and never used them. Tried using them now and was told it does not apply to a Jeep or convertible.

Meanwhile in the email confirmation when I bought the certificated it says:

Quote
Offer valid on the rental of any size car, subject to availability.

I spoke with a supervisor and they are unable to override it and change anything. Trip is in a week so not much time to fight things.
