I didn't mean denying the holocaust. Even denying the part their people played in it makes them complicit. At this point I would be much quicker to support the German economy than th Polish. They have taken resposibility for it and the polish are not.
Exactly. I did stay in Hamburg overnight without the same feelings as when I go to Poland.
One incident that stands out for me was related to me by a friend. His brother was backpacking through Europe maybe 20 years ago. He was dressed as an ordinary backpacker, no outwardly signs of his being Jewish. HE was talking to his friends in English. Standing on the train platform in Poland someone approached him and said "I smell Jew". Its in their mother's milk.
I think the Germans cant help themselves either. I was in FRA last month and the way they treated travelers to Israel was pretty horrific. Their secondary security screening made me want to take a shower (a real one, not one of their "showers"). My wife, my daughter and I never felt so violated in our lives. At least I got to say, "Once a Nazi always a Nazi" without repercussions. If I said that in Poland today I would go to jail for 3 years under this new law.
