Hi, very nice thread, like always.
Did you see in Izmir the shul that shabtai tsvi impounded?  I couldn't get hold of the key.

I did Turkey by plane (twice), as I found the distances too vast, petrol too expensive and super cheap domestic flights.

I would add that it IS a cheap destination (Istanbul a little less).

Also it is a destination if you are interested in natural beauty.

No, never even heard of that shul...
The long drives were one of my favorite things about Turkey as I was able to go off the beaten bath and meet REAL people & unspoiled culture.
