Starwood Business and LDW
« on: July 28, 2011, 08:34:29 AM »
I just recently found out the hard way that Starwood Business cards do not cover any sort of rental insurance on rentals made outside of the US. Is everyone aware of this?
Apparently the consumer card has coverage globally (besides a few countries like Israel) but for the Business card it's only in America.
Are there any other major differences that I need to know about?

Wow, never knew that, but it does look like all AMEX small business cards only cover US rentals.
Haven't rented on an AMEX in many years though either way, CO is the way to go for this.

Yea, just wanted to let people know... The thing is, when I signed up for the Business (on the phone, already had a personal) I remember specifically asking what the differences were, and I was told the only difference was that the business name would show on the card. I wonder if that's enough for me to fight them. Anyone have experience with this?

And excuse my ignorance, but "CO"? Continental? Any specific one?

Yup, CO=Continental.

Both of these have free primary CDW worldwide, excluding Israel and 2 other countries.

I have both thanks to you. But which other countries is insurance excluded? Do you know if Australia is one of them?
