IIRC a couple of years back they had an interview with some frum vegan. When asked how this fits in to Yiddishkeit eg Korbonos, Tefilin he had a whole "mehalech" how his tefilin were made from animals which weren't harmed etc.. I can't remember the entire article, maybe someone can find it on Mishpacha archives.
When there was a huge backlash the following week how could they publish an article with such Hashkafas, the response was we didn't realize because we published it in the Hebrew edition and no one seemed to mind.
An average Israeli Charedi won't read the Mishpacha but an average American Charedi will (or even if they don't a lot of times it's because of the cost of it).

Aside from the issue of the magazine, which I responded to in the last post, am I incorrect about the actual episode. It took place long before I was born, but I assume that you were alive at the time, and would be much more suited to share the frum viewpoint on the story. What impression do you have?

Mishpacha itself had an article about Yossele a few years back, and I do not remember them taking this approach.

I don't know if others agree or disagree, but I thought that the recent Mishpacha Magazine article on the Eifoh Yosseleh saga was despicable, and it reinforced my conviction against buying that hashkaficaly depraved magazine again.

The entire backdrop of the article was painting everyone who had any involvement with the saga as being either mistaken or worse, and thankfully most have repented from their evil actions but one unfortunately died without having shown remorse. They even dug up something (that I never heard before) about the Satmar Rov being diametrically opposed to the whole mission, further indicating that this was just a few rouge nuts who did something indefensible.
Is this a more widespread opinion in the frum world than I am aware of?

I do buy the Hebrew Mishpacha weekly, because DW likes reading the בתוך המשפחה section. I do use the rest as restroom reading material. I have 0 respect for most of the writers (and especially the owners/editors). I find Dovid Damen talented and entertaining and probably the only column that is worthy of being read in a Jewish home.

I am far from a Mishpacha fan. I think even less of Ami. However, I think that some people are getting confused here. Neither of these mags/rags claim to be the mouthpiece of any form of Da'as Torah. They are merely Kosher entertainment. Just like there are some Hechsherim that have standards lower than yours, there is kosher reading material whose standards don't match yours. If you don't approve, fine, don't buy it. But if someone else does, why does that bother you?
Unless you think that an uneducated reader may swallow their stories as the true Torah Hashkafa and you think it's necessary to alert them. But that doesn't necessarily mean to cancel a subscription, only to be aware of what the magazine does or doesn't claim to be.

I think this is very much the case. I have many family members who read the magazine and are subconsciously impacted by their perverted hashkafos.

But that doesn't necessarily mean to cancel a subscription, only to be aware of what the magazine does or doesn't claim to be.

It is almost impossible to read skewed hashkafos without some part of it effecting you in some way. You can be smart and have a great hashkafic backbone, but there will be things you don't know and you don't see anything wrong with and it just makes you start thinking a certain way.
