Yep it proves that Toy's 4 U is guilty of the above and is merely checking boxes.

No, that was Binah magazine. Toys 4 U did it as well, but it is the magazines conforming to the "system" you are talking about and defending who publishes illustrations of sleeveless women while not publishing pictures of 4 year olds.

I'm not going to take any more time to address the rest of the post just to be dismissed as

just a nit picking job without any real substance to it.

If that's the case, we aren't really having a discussion but are talking past each other.

I'm frankly stunned this is actually coming from someone I consider to be a wise person.

Right back at ya.

Some nice jems here from 2018, back when the wine flowed heavy :)

I'd never argue on the internet when sober, I wouldn't argue at all.

Some of the replies merely highlight my frustration than and call to mind various characters in Chaim grade "the yeshiva" I just finished volume 2, was deeper than #1 which I read some time ago.

I don't have the capacity to sit and learn as I did in my youth.

I have horrific tinnitus resulting from the acoustic neuroma/ vestibular shwanoma. So I'm not interested in reading long copied stuff in Hebrew.

Impress me by concise verbage.

The yeshiva really impressed on me a lot of respect for the chazon ish. Some of your replies remind me of the hot headed musarnik's in the book, I do however thank those who did reply.

I was reading on the chazon ish relationship with Rav Moshe Rosen the nezer hakadosh and ;

"Later in life, someone told Rosen that the Chazon Ish could learn 100 pages of Gemara a day, to which Rosen responded that he hadn't heard of that, but he had seen the man learn one page of Gemara over a hundred days and the first perek of Mikvaot for three months, fifteen hours a day![8][1]"

I take every day to try to understand just a little bit more.

Cheers,

Solid gold, and an improvement from his previous piece.

I enjoyed this one immensely. It’s important to have these hashkofos clearly laid out, and he does so most succinctly. I like that he kept it short.

Some thoughts;

Berakhot 8a
What is the meaning of that which is written: “But as for me, let my prayer be unto You, Lord, in a time of favor; O God, in the abundance of Your mercy, answer me with the truth of Your salvation” (Psalms 69:14)? It appears that the individual is praying that his prayers will coincide with a special time of Divine favor. When is a time of favor? It is at the time when the congregation is praying. It is beneficial to pray together with the congregation, for God does not fail to respond to the entreaties of the congregation.

And this concept, that halakha is the most sublime pursuit, is expressed in that which Rabbi Ḥiyya bar Ami said in the name of Ulla: Since the day the Temple, where the Divine Presence rested in this world, was destroyed, the Holy One, Blessed be He, has only one place in His world where he reveals His presence exclusively; only the four cubits where the study of halakha is undertaken.

5. Rama, O.C. 68:1; 90:18. See Shulchan Aruch ha-Rav 124:10, who writes that talking while the congregation is praising Hashem is a form of blasphemy

Etc

If it's clearly against halacha and shulchan aruch, why is talking allowed in shul?

This guy had an interesting take. I read the pamphlet, it’s intriguing. He isn’t condoning it, rather theorizing why the admonitions of hundreds and hundreds of years never seem to work.

I also admire Jews for keeping tradition and going to Jewish delis, albeit trayf.

Same?

I dunno, I'm just quoting shulchan aruch and the rema..

Don't see why talking in shul and eating trayf are different.

Why go to shul if you talk? A misguided sense of righteousness?

I’m thinking of a few differences but hey why get technical. I’m in for people to view improper talking in Shul akin to treif, as long as they don’t start looking at treif as talking in Shul…

I'm bothered by this level of frumkeit, watching people dress their frumness, shteiging etc .

And then violate Jewish code of law in public, it's also very disruptive to others and a chilul hashem.

Viewing the shul as a social club is oved avoda Zara, then you simply don't believe in mikdash me"at or shulchan aruchs prohibition.

I'm all for shmoozing after davening and enjoying kiddush maybe.

I don't get why people go to shul to talk, most Shabbat mornings I'm either sleeping or up and reading.

I do like davening in shul, not every shul and I get bored fast etc .

Honestly, if you get bored in shul, bring a book, hang out in the social hall etc

It's why I like certain prayer formats, singing etc it keeps you engaged..

Meh I dunno. Who needs that negativity, I tend to stay home.

As I told my brother in jest "God forbid I should put myself in position to sin ;)"

Again, not condoning this, but if you’re taking it this far this is for you. Remember, “anyone who reads this paper and analyzes it’s arguments with the care it deserves will enjoy it, and become strengthened in his or hers Judaism”.

What happened now? Didn't the Eidah raise this a year ago?

it wasn't originally the eidah,if i am not mistaken it actually has their haskama. the eida joined after r' Baruch Shmuel Deutch raised the issue on simchas tora and other rabbonim joined in.I assumed the timing had to do with the beginning of bereshis and annual renewed interest in parshas hashavua / new schoolyear
