crazy story... You would think uber would have insurance for such a thing...  Then again my wife got her wig thrown out by a hotel employee and they refused to pay for it..

There is a line item in every insurance policy for "property damage". In NY you can fill out an accident report yourself and submit to DMV then request his insurance info and file a claim with his insurance. Uber requires that its drivers and cars be insured. Ask Uber for insurance info and call them too.

Update:
A. Police report was filed
B. After many emails to uber they said they will send down an adjuster. I guess their service is a bit better then expected

I told them i want his info for a police report, so they said they cant give it out but they will send someone.
